Oh Mercy - October Screening Initiative: Seeing is Believing
Throughout the month of October 2021, Worldwide Documentaries presented a national screening initiative featuring Oh Mercy, which sparked necessary and important conversations surrounding the current situation on the US/Mexico border. Throughout the month, the film gained traction through various NGO advocacy organizations, communities, and individuals seeking to further educate themselves, as well as over 700 views on Youtube.

Oh Mercy Premiere
Panel Discussion

On Thursday, February 25th, 2022 Worldwide Documentaries held a premiere event of Oh Mercy-Searching for Hope in the Promised Land, co-hosted by Refugee Services of Texas and sponsored by the UVA Humanitarian Collaborative.
A screening of the documentary short was followed by an incredibly informative and enlightening panel discussion with esteemed guests: Sister Norma Pimentel, ACLU lawyer Lee Gelernt, asylum seeker Angelica Xolxol and her translator and case manager Ahmed Abbas, and the film’s Director Robert Bilheimer. The discussion fueled with compassion, covered topics that ranged from the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) and the experiences of forced migrants not only on the US/Mexico border but all over the world, family separations and the challenges ahead, to what comes next for filmmaker Robert Bilheimer and Oh Mercy itself.
